About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Fleet Maintenance Technician to join our team at Performance Foodservice. This is a critical role that requires experience in performing major and minor repairs, conducting thorough inspections, and executing preventative maintenance on fleet diesel equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Complete preventative maintenance and standard component inspections/repairs of fleet diesel equipment.
  • Using PFG tools and technologies to log, research, and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics.
  • Identify root cause of basic failures/conditions and perform repairs as required.
  • Complete quality maintenance on minor repairs of fleet diesel equipment (tractors, trailers, refrigeration units).
  • Thoroughly document work orders of repairs and preventative maintenance through the online Enterprise Asset Management system.
  • Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts to ensure they are in proper operating condition.
  • Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery.
Requirements
  • 5-7 years of practical experience with truck and tractor-trailer maintenance.
  • High School Diploma / GED or Equivalent Experience.
Benefits
  • $30.00 per hour or more depending on experience.
  • Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm schedule.
