About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Group Insurance Benefit Operations Specialist to join our team at OCI Insurance and Financial Services, Inc. As a key member of our Benefit Operations Team, you will play a critical role in supporting our agents and carriers by crafting custom sales proposals, handling policy documentation, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Proposal Creation: Collaborate with agents to create customized sales proposals for group benefits, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Carrier Requests: Handle carrier requests, including benefit guidance and policy documentation, to ensure seamless communication and efficient processing.
  • Benefit Guidance: Provide detailed information on small business health products, including ancillary and worksite coverages, to support agents and clients.
  • Policy Installation: Guide agents through the policy installation process, checking paperwork for accuracy and submitting clean documentation to carriers.
  • Policy Management: Oversee and organize agents' policies, submitted data, and internal business communications to ensure efficient operations.
  • Carrier Data Management: Compile and manage carrier data for each group market within the organization, ensuring accuracy and up-to-date information.
  • Industry Knowledge: Gain a general understanding of the group health insurance market, including ancillary and worksite coverages, to provide expert guidance and support.
  • Technology: Utilize CRM and carrier enrollment platforms specific to the Benefit Operations Department to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
Requirements
  • Experience: Previous experience in health insurance, preferably in a group benefits or operations role.
  • CRM Systems: Familiarity with CRM systems and ability to learn new technology.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Attention to Detail: High attention to detail, with the ability to accurately process and manage complex data.
  • Team Player: Effective team player, with the ability to work collaboratively and contribute to a positive team dynamic.
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent, with a strong foundation in business and operations principles.
