$63,280- $112,776. Salary is commensurate with experience and education level.

HTH is in search of a Secondary School Chemistry Educator to become an integral part of our teaching staff.

JOB SUMMARY


Under the general supervision of the School Director, the Chemistry Educator will be responsible for developing lesson plans and delivering instruction to students. This role includes assigning homework, evaluating tests, and tracking student progress. The educator must effectively engage students through a project-based curriculum.

Responsibilities also include fostering a learning environment that encourages students to reach their academic potential and achieve the educational objectives set forth by High Tech High.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exemplifies High Tech High's core principles of Equity, Personalization, Authentic Work, and Collaborative Design in all professional activities.
  • Designs daily lesson plans featuring project-based tasks that are both educational and stimulating for students.
  • Plans, prepares, and implements instructional activities that promote active learning.
  • Integrates goals, competencies, and objectives into lesson plans in ways that are relevant to students' lives.
  • Meets school and course-wide performance expectations for every student.
  • Regularly assesses assignments and homework to keep students informed of their progress.
  • Identifies students facing learning challenges or emotional difficulties and connects them with necessary resources.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • Valid California Single Subject Teaching Credential in Chemistry or an equivalent out-of-state teaching license.
