About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Secondary Social Studies Educator to join our team at Charter Oak Recruitment. As a key member of our educational community, you will play a vital role in shaping the academic and cultural visions of our schools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement daily lesson plans, curriculum design, and regular data analysis to ensure student learning and growth.
  • Implement Social Emotional Learning lessons and Restorative Practices to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with the Leadership Team, including the Instructional Coach, to ensure student progress and growth.
  • Commit to creating an anti-racist school community by engaging in ongoing development and analysis of school systems, academics, culture, and data.
Requirements
  • Experience as an educator teaching students with similar demographics to our student community.
  • Hold a B.A/B.S degree from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Meet one of the following eligibility requirements: Hold an applicable and valid teaching credential; Eligibility for a Provisional Internship Permit, or Eligibility for a Short Term Staff Permit.
  • Strong content area knowledge, commitment to being an anti-racist educator, and ability to build relationships with students, families, and communities.
  • Proficient knowledge of Google Suite applications and ability to learn and utilize instructional technology.
Physical, Mental, and Environmental Demands
  • Ability to navigate school and classroom settings, access and utilize technology, and occasional lifting/carrying of equipment 1-20 lbs.
  • Stress of deadlines and normal work standards, ability to analyze problems and generate alternatives, work with interruptions, concentrate for long periods of time, read, calculate, perform routine math problems, memorize and recall objects and people.
  • School and classroom environment subject to constant interruptions and distractions.
Classification

This is a full-time, exempt position on a school year calendar cycle, located at our school sites.
