Position Overview

Patient Services Coordinator

The main objective of the Patient Services Coordinator is to manage the scheduling and check-in/check-out processes for patients attending their appointments. This role will report directly to the Practice Administrator and is a full-time position, operating Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The role may require occasional travel to various clinic locations and includes working one Saturday each month from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM. The compensation for this position is set at $18.00 per hour, along with Travel Reimbursement.

Key Responsibilities of the Patient Services Coordinator:

  • Handle incoming telephone inquiries in accordance with departmental staffing and time guidelines.
  • Register and schedule patients for primary care appointments efficiently.
  • Deliver knowledgeable and courteous responses to patients, ensuring a professional demeanor.
  • Conduct insurance verification as part of the registration and scheduling procedures.
  • Maintain accuracy in data entry across various systems.
  • Update patient demographic and insurance details as necessary.

Essential Qualifications of the Patient Services Coordinator:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Proficiency in navigating a database and operating within a Windows environment is essential.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred, encompassing speaking, writing, and comprehension skills.
  • 1-5 years of experience in roles such as healthcare call center representative, patient access representative, patient service representative, medical scheduler, medical assistant, or medical receptionist is preferred but not mandatory.
  • A typing speed of at least 30 words per minute with a minimum accuracy of 90% is required.
  • A commitment to the company’s mission statement is essential for daily interactions with colleagues and patients.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not entail any supervisory responsibilities.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:

All employees must provide proof of vaccination or an exemption.

Compensation:

The hourly wage for this position is $18.00, plus Travel Reimbursement.
