About the Role

Hexcel is seeking a highly skilled Customer Business Team Leader to drive growth for our Space and Defense business. This individual will join our Sales and Marketing Team and be responsible for generating new sales from existing and new customers, with a particular focus on defense aerospace, space, and launcher market opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sales Growth and Development
    • Generate new sales from existing and new customers, leveraging cross-functional teams to create strategies and manage sales deliverables.
    • Lead the development of customer solutions by analyzing customer needs and available resources, and interfacing with customers and internal teams to keep both parties informed of key issues and concerns.
  • Customer Relationship Management
    • Establish and maintain relationships with key customer contacts, building collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams.
    • Adapt communication style and techniques to various communication channels, including virtual, written, or face-to-face communication.
  • Sales Forecasting and Planning
    • Own sales forecast for associated customers, leading and coordinating efforts to obtain forecast inputs directly from customers.
    • Use ERP tools to enter and maintain forecast data, communicating all risks associated with forecast changes or inaccuracies in a timely manner.
  • Pursuit Strategy and Negotiation
    • Develop deep knowledge of Hexcel products and understand how customers value Hexcel and competitive offerings.
    • Formulate strategy to effectively position Hexcel products, and communicate pursuit strategy for customer opportunities.
  • Industry Engagement and Lead Generation
    • Engage with industry organizations to develop and generate new leads.
    • Develop and maintain growth pursuits using CRM.
  • Travel and Collaboration
    • Up to 50% domestic travel required.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across multiple time zones, countries, and cultures.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in aerospace, chemical, or mechanical engineering or related discipline from a four-year college or university.
    • 5+ years' experience in technical sales with a network in the aerospace composite materials community.
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Demonstrated experience and passion for new sales development and securing new opportunities with new and existing customers.
    • Knowledge of composite products in aerospace and defense markets and experience in contract negotiations, supply chain, and project management.
    • Ability to act autonomously to organize sales prospecting and execution activities, and establish, build, and work effectively in a team-based environment.
    • Track record of developing and delivering creative solutions that overcome obstacles and enhance profitability.
    • Advanced MS Office Suite skills, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Dynamics365, as well as ERP/MRP experience.
    • Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, as well as good organization and decision-making skills.
    • Passion for seeking new opportunities and a results-oriented approach.
