This is a full-time position, Day Shift, with an estimated salary of $60,000-$80,000 per year, depending on experience.



Job Description


The Public Safety Officer will be responsible for:



  • Maintaining access control to hospital facilities through proactive patrols;
  • Welcome, assist, and direct all staff and public persons into the facility while ensuring all applicable hospital rules and regulations are being met;
  • Monitor all CCTV and alarm stations for criminal and/or safety situations and take required steps;
  • Perform 1:1 Patient Watches to ensure the safety of patients and staff;
  • Tour the facility and report any security and/or safety issues;
  • Respond and assist to all emergencies, codes, and/or calls for assistance;
  • De-escalate crisis situations using verbal de-escalation techniques;
  • Prepare and submit written reports and daily activity events in a complete and accurate manner;
  • Maintain open lines of communication and positive working relations with hospital staff;
  • Assist all Hospital Departments to ensure safe and secure operations of the Hospital.


Required Skills and Qualifications


To be successful in this role, you will need:



  • A High School diploma or equivalent, some college credits preferred;
  • Possess 6 months to 1 year's experience in a related Security and/or Customer Service environment;
  • Previous/current law enforcement and/or military experience preferred;
  • The ability to effectively speak, read, and write English;
  • A working knowledge and literacy of CCTV, ID badging, and Access Control Systems (CCure 9000);
  • The flexibility to work a variety of shifts in a given schedule period;
  • The ability to handle private information with discretion;
  • AVADE Level III de-escalation training certification;
  • American Heart Association BLS CPR certification;
  • An Active Massachusetts Class A Unrestricted License to Carry Firearms (LTC) within six months of hire.
