Job Description

Job Summary:

Amtec Enterprise is seeking a highly skilled Material Handler to join our team. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient movement of goods and materials within our warehouse. This is a contract position for 6 months, with the possibility of extension.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inbound Operations:
    • Unload trucks, trailers, and containers of freight, and verify the accuracy of shipments.
    • Count products and compare to manifests to identify any damage, infestation, or production code dates.
    • Report any discrepancies or issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Order Picking and Fulfillment:
    • Pick and pack orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring the correct product number, quantity, and type are selected.
    • Transport orders to shipping locations or delivery platforms using material handling equipment.
    • Label, stencil, tag, and mark orders as required.
  • Outbound Operations:
    • Verify the accuracy of outgoing shipments, including quantity, labeling, and address.
    • Assign signatures for outbound shipments as necessary.
    • Efficiently move product, cartons, and pallets into trailers, rail cars, or containers.
  • Equipment Maintenance and Inventory Management:
    • Maintain equipment in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.
    • Operate equipment safely and efficiently, complying with company standards and OSHA requirements.
    • Keep accurate records and reports, and assist in physical inventories and cycle counts.
  • Other Duties:
    • Repack or re-box cases per customer instructions.
    • Repair and consolidate damaged goods as required.
    • Operate a shrink-wrap machine.
    • Charge forklift batteries as needed, and stack and separate good from bad pallets when necessary.

Requirements:

  • High School education or GED preferred.
  • OSHA Forklift and HAZMAT certification a plus.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, and use proper techniques to do so.
  • Strong attention to detail, and ability to follow directions with emphasis on safety.
  • Ability to handle stress caused by meeting deadlines with tight scheduling requirements.
  • Ability to shift priorities easily, and use hands and feet simultaneously for repetitive movements.
  • Responsible work habits, and familiarity with warehouse systems.
  • Availability to work any shift.
