Job Title: Nurse Practitioner

Greenleaf Behavioral Health Hospital is seeking a passionate Registered Nurse (RN) to work at our adolescent and adult facility in Valdosta, GA.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide and coordinate care by assessing patients' physical and behavioral health needs.
  • Develop and implement nursing care plans that cater to the unique needs of each patient.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, ensuring that patients and their families are well-informed about their health conditions.
  • Provide nursing care and services within the standards and scope of nursing practice, adhering to state regulations, facility policies, and corporate guidelines.
  • Ensure that physicians' orders are accurately transcribed and implemented.
  • Monitor patients' status on an ongoing basis, documenting any significant changes or challenges.
  • Notify physicians of any difficulties with detox, medical emergencies, or changes in medical status.
  • Develop and implement initial nursing treatment plans upon admission, ensuring that they are specific to the patient's assessed needs.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and utilization of universal precautions in providing direct patient care.
  • Accurately administer medications as ordered, documenting accurate counts of controlled substance medication administration.
  • Complete admission and discharge processing efficiently and accurately as directed.
  • Exhibit therapeutic rapport with patients by maintaining professional boundaries, respecting personal space, and providing direct attention.
  • Provide direction or coordinate the activities of the unit as directed.
  • Communicate therapeutically and professionally with patients, visitors, co-workers, and others involved in patient treatment.
Qualifications:
  • Must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Must possess a current Registered Nurse (RN) license as required by Tennessee or be eligible to practice nursing in accordance with state requirements.
  • One year of nursing experience; previous psychiatric, mental, behavioral, or substance abuse nursing experience is a plus.
  • CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
  • First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.
