About the RoleThis is a unique opportunity to work with a dynamic team and contribute to the growth of our company. As a CAISO Wholesale Originator, you will be responsible for originating, structuring, and negotiating electric commodity transactions with a focus on the CAISO/WECC wholesale power market.
Key Responsibilities- Originate and structure power transactions in CAISO/WECC to support Commercial Operations and the C&I Sales Team.
- Work closely with internal groups to manage issues surrounding retail deals and facilitate transaction closure.
- Develop and maintain relationships with customers, including utilities, banks, trading counterparties, and asset developers.
- Build and establish relationships with customers to grow customer flow business and execute structured transactions.
- Minimum of 5 years of power marketing or power trading experience.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Advanced knowledge of the electric utility industry, electric energy markets, and market fundamentals, especially in CAISO/WECC.
- Strong commercial skills and proven ability to identify and close large wholesale power transactions.
This role requires evening and weekend work, as well as up to 25% travel to establish and maintain customer business.
