Job Summary

Droisys Inc is seeking a highly skilled Demographic Research Specialist to join our team. As a Demographic Research Specialist, you will be responsible for collecting, researching, and analyzing demographic data to support business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect and analyze demographic data from various sources, including student records, population data sets, and local and state agencies.
  • Develop and maintain databases and spreadsheets to track demographic data.
  • Generate reports, graphs, and charts to present findings and recommendations.
  • Participate in the development of business cases and proposals to support demographic research and analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure demographic data is accurately represented in business decisions.
  • Analyze proposals for attendance zone changes and their impact on planning for school construction projects.
  • Respond to inquiries related to zoning and enrollment data, including demographic and geographic issues.
  • Develop and maintain zone grid maps to determine school locations and boundaries.
  • Maintain quality control of maps and documents.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) years of full-time paid professional experience in research, mapping, or data analysis in demography, urban planning, statistics, geography, or a related field.
  • Experience in compiling and analyzing school or enrollment data is preferred.

Education

  • Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor's degree in urban planning, mathematics, geography, economics, or a related field.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Statistical methods of analysis.
  • Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and related computer software such as ArcGIS10.
  • Mapping concepts and techniques in cartography.
  • Research methods, principles, and graphic presentations.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Best practices and terminologies in demography.
