We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Principal Mechanisms Engineer to join our team at Northrop Grumman. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for developing, modifying, and maintaining the Mechanical Systems Design Architecture using engineering practices and standards.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement mechanical system designs and architectures for aircraft platforms.
- Lead a team of mechanical design engineers in the preliminary design, development, and integration of mechanical system components and mechanisms.
- Perform design and analysis of aircraft landing gear and general aircraft mechanisms.
- Manage team cost and schedule, and mentor junior engineers in mechanical design.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline and 8 years of related professional/military experience, or Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 6 years of related professional/military experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret clearance and Special Access Programs (SAP) prior to commencement of employment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience in managing team cost and schedule.
- Excellent communication and writing skills, with experience in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Masters Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related discipline.
- Active DoD Secret clearance or higher, with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or under continuous evaluation.
- Familiarity with NX CAD software and Teamcenter PLM.
- Managerial/Team Lead experience.
