Responsibilities include operating Construction Material Testing (CMT) equipment both in the laboratory and on-site to assess the engineering characteristics of various materials including soil, aggregate, concrete, and asphalt.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting testing procedures in accordance with the standards set by the American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM), American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO), and American Concrete Institute (ACI).
  • Performing a variety of tests such as:
    • Soil moisture content analysis
    • Classification tests (Atterberg limits)
    • Specific gravity determinations
    • Grain size analysis (sieve and hydrometer tests)
    • Proctor tests for moisture density relationships
    • Aggregate gradation and relative density assessments
    • Concrete testing for air content, slump, and strength
    • Asphalt mixture evaluations including ignition method for asphalt content and Marshall method for stability and flow
