We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technician I to join our team at Bryan Health. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing high-complexity medical laboratory tests, procedures, and analyses to provide data for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease.
Key Responsibilities- Under the supervision of a Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendment (CLIA)-designated General Supervisor, perform laboratory testing according to laboratory standards, policies, and procedures in a timely and thorough manner.
- Analyze test results and enter data into the computer using laboratory standards, policies, and procedures.
- Perform and analyze quality control measures to ensure accurate clinical data.
- Maintain competency and proficiency on all laboratory instrumentation and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with coworkers, clients, and leadership by transmitting patient cart testing and results, ideas, information, and opinions clearly, concisely, and courteously.
- Perform general housekeeping tasks to maintain a safe work environment.
- Prior experience as a Specimen Processing Technician II required.
- Bachelor's degree or above in a chemical, physical, or biological science meeting American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) criteria for Medical Laboratory Technician certification or Technologist in Blood Bank, Microbiology, Hematology, or Chemistry certification required.
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced laboratory environment and to maintain confidentiality relevant to sensitive information.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and teamwork skills, as well as the ability to work with minimal supervision.
