Job Title: Nuclear Inspector Technician

Naval Nuclear Laboratory is seeking a skilled Nuclear Inspector Technician to join our team at the Naval Reactors Facility site in Idaho Falls, ID.

Job Summary:

The successful applicant will attain and maintain qualification as a Nuclear Inspector, performing duties such as nuclear inspection, dimensional measurements, nondestructive testing, receipt inspection, source inspection, shipping container certification, electrical inspection, rail car inspection, and construction inspection.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform nuclear inspection and dimensional measurements to ensure compliance with applicable standards.
  • Conduct nondestructive testing and receipt inspection to verify the quality of materials and equipment.
  • Perform source inspection and shipping container certification to ensure safe and reliable transportation of nuclear materials.
  • Conduct electrical inspection and rail car inspection to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform construction inspection to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform work surveillance and audits to ensure that material control, cleanliness control, and manufacturing and assembly processes comply with applicable standards.
Requirements:
  • Holds or has previously held NDT level II certifications in one or more in VT, PT, MT, HLT.
  • Adequate visual acuity including color vision discernment required.
  • The applicant must be able to meet physical requirements with reasonable accommodations.
  • The applicant must also be able to qualify as a Radiological Contamination Worker.
Preferred Skills:
  • ASNT Non-destructive testing (NDT) qualification.
  • Experience with Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program.
  • Quality Control inspection.
Compensation and Benefits:

Pay Range:

$32.14 hourly.

Jobs categorized as subject to a collective bargaining agreement will adhere to the pay rates, wage increases, progression schedules, and other parameters identified and negotiated in said agreements.
