Medical Laboratory Technician I

As a Medical Laboratory Technician I at Bryan Health, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality laboratory testing and analysis to support patient care. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to the delivery of exceptional patient experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Perform high-complexity medical laboratory tests, procedures, and analyses to provide accurate data for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease.
2. Work under the supervision of a Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendment (CLIA)-designated General Supervisor (Medical Laboratory Scientist) to ensure laboratory testing is performed according to laboratory standards, policies, and procedures.
3. Analyze test results and enter data into the computer using laboratory standards, policies, and procedures.
4. Perform and analyze quality control measures to ensure accurate clinical data, troubleshoot shifts or trends as necessary, and maintain competency and proficiency on all laboratory instrumentation and procedures.
5. Maintain a safe work environment by performing general housekeeping tasks and ensuring adequate supplies in the work area.
6. Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure completion of testing and communication of necessary information to assist testing completion.
Requirements:
1. Prior experience as a Specimen Processing Technician II is required.
2. A Bachelor's degree or above in a chemical, physical, or biological science meeting American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) criteria for Medical Laboratory Technician certification or Technologist in Blood Bank, Microbiology, Hematology, or Chemistry certification is required.
Working Conditions:
This role is characterized as medium work requiring exertion of 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or a greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The ability to distinguish and discriminate between colors is also required.
