POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Assembly Technician at Southern States LLC is responsible for the assembly, repair, or testing of electromechanical devices, including Circuit, Line Load, Capacitor Switchers, and similar products.

VALUE ADDITION:

- Transport specified components from storage to the work area manually or using an overhead crane

- Remove burrs and rough edges from metal components using hand files or portable pneumatic grinders

- Apply lubricant to moving parts and assemble components on the bench, adhering to blueprints

- Insert shims to realign or level components, ensuring proper alignment and clearance

- Secure components together using bolts, screws, and rivets

- Set up and operate drill presses and hydraulic or manual presses

- Connect electrical wires to terminals of subassemblies

- Move subassemblies to and from storage areas

- Assist fellow operators during assembly by providing necessary components or tools

- Aid in the transportation and setup of equipment for testing

- Keep equipment and work areas clean and orderly

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

To excel in this role, candidates must be able to fulfill essential duties satisfactorily. The qualifications below represent the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities:

- High school diploma or GED; up to one month of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations, including addition and subtraction of whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Proficiency in using simple mathematical and geometric tools such as calculators, calipers, scales, and measuring tapes.
