Lead Athletic Health Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Athletic Health Specialist to join our team at JAG Physical Therapy. This is a full-time opportunity to serve as a key member of our athletic training department, providing comprehensive health services to athletes and communities.
Job SummaryThe successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and maintaining effective athletic training programs, ensuring safe environments, and educating students and communities on health and fitness topics. This role requires a strong background in athletic training, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities- Program Development: Establish and maintain an effective athletic training program for contracted organizations, including functional athletic training rooms and updated policies and procedures manuals.
- AT Services: Provide athletic training services for events and competitions, including preventative care, emergency care, and injury management.
- Risk Management: Create and maintain a safe playing environment by monitoring and controlling environmental risks, and coordinating medical and risk management for all athletes.
- Education and Community Outreach: Develop and implement educational programs for local schools, coaches, athletes, and communities on health and fitness topics.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with other JAG professionals, including physical therapists and physicians, to ensure seamless delivery of services.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A bachelor's or master's degree in athletic training from a CAATE-approved program.
- BOC certification and licensure as an Athletic Trainer in New York State.
- Current BLS certification and personal liability insurance.
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to fluid situations.
We offer a competitive salary of $65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as a range of benefits, including:
