Job Summary

As a Facilities Maintenance Specialist at Bosch, you will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep, cleaning, and maintenance of our facilities, equipment, and property. This includes supporting all areas of the facilities, production departments, office areas, bathrooms, and cafeterias.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist in the maintenance of property, including offices, production areas, public areas, and equipment, through completion of preventive maintenance programs according to specifications.
• Complete daily Standard Work task lists and event reports.
• Ensure both the office area and production floor are clean and safe, and assist other departments as needed.
• Empties trash in production and office areas.
• Sweeps, mops interior of the building, and general cleaning of the floor using brooms, mops, and a commercial floor sweeping machine.
• Maintains and disinfects restrooms, including sweeping, mopping, cleaning, replenishing paper supplies, and soap.
• Cleans windows, replaces air filters, and performs minor maintenance tasks such as light bulb changes and painting.
• Orders, tracks, and maintains supplies.
• Maintains tidy parking lots and exterior of the building, picks up refuse, and empties outdoor waste bins.
• Shovels snow and applies salt as needed to complement outside services.
• Lifts and manipulates parts/equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Follows safety requirements and wears Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, aprons, gloves, and shoes.
• Keeps the factory clean, safe, and organized.
• Assists with 5S projects and initiatives.
• Interfaces with staff/managers to implement maintenance needs and ensures timely response to requests.
• Assists in maintaining proper inventory levels and waste disposal, including hazardous waste such as acetone, mineral spirits, or solvents.

Work Environment

• Most work time is spent in a warehouse environment with moderate to high noise levels and temperatures that are heated and air-conditioned, depending on the season.
• Occasionally works outside in various weather conditions.
• Handles small amounts of general and hazardous waste, including solvents, acetones, and mineral spirits.

Physical Requirements

• Frequently lifts and moves up to 50 pounds without assistance.
• Uses ladders and scaffolds.
• Works with parts of various sizes and weights.
• Performs repetitive shoulder/arm/hand motions.
• Moves furniture, materials, and equipment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, job-specific training, and equivalent work experience preferred.
• Plumbing, carpentry, painting, and other generally accepted maintenance skills a plus.
• Commitment to excellence and high standards for cleaning and organizing.
• Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
• Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
• Bilingual skills a plus.
• Ability to understand all safety requirements and precautions.
• Ability to learn proper methods for handling hazardous materials and wastes, with training.
