We are seeking a highly skilled Seafood Order Writer to join our team at Whole Foods Market. Key Responsibilities- Replenish seafood products through proper buying procedures, ensuring optimal inventory levels and minimizing waste.
- Order seafood products and maintain accurate back stock levels, adhering to WFM ordering standards.
- Monitor and act upon open PO reports for purchases and credits, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
- Control spoilage and shrink, achieving turn goals and participating in inventory management.
- Complete spoilage, sampling, temperature, and sweep worksheets as required, maintaining accurate records.
- Ensure timely and accurate orders for product, monitoring inventory turns and maintaining optimal stock levels.
- Oversee customer special order procedures, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring timely fulfillment.
- Analyze and control product transfers, waste, and spoilage, maintaining financial profitability.
- Support leadership in conducting inventories, ensuring accurate and timely completion.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary working environment, adhering to WFM cleanliness and safety standards.
- Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned, ensuring accuracy of signs and pricing.
- Immediately report safety hazards and violations, maintaining a safe working environment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of seafood products, including species, sourcing, and handling.
- Working knowledge and application of all seafood merchandising expectations, including display and presentation.
- Ability to educate team members on product knowledge and convey enthusiasm for seafood products.
- Strong basic math skills, with ability to accurately calculate inventory levels and orders.
- Knowledge and ability to use computer programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and ordering systems.
- Strong to excellent communication skills, with ability to work effectively with team members, customers, and vendors.
- Ability to meet customer service expectations and standards in all interactions.
- Ability to follow directions and procedures, with effective time management and organization skills.

- Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds, with frequent standing, walking, and bending.
- Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals and temperatures up to 90°F.

- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
