Job Summary:

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a skilled Senior Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our Nuclear Medicine Department, you will be responsible for performing complex nuclear medicine procedures with a high degree of accuracy and compliance with standard procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily QC testing and identify equipment malfunctions, making simple adjustments and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Communicate clearly and tactfully with patients, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the examination process.
  • Compute and prepare accurate dosages for each specialized exam, with a minimum accuracy of 99%.
  • Order necessary radio-isotope materials with a 100% accuracy rate.
  • Observe all government regulations regarding the safe utilization, storage, and disposal of radio-isotopes with 100% accuracy.
  • Translate physicians' orders involving technical-surgical procedures into appropriate nuclear medicine procedures.
  • Ensure the flow of work in the department, overseeing and advising the Director of any issues.
  • Responsible for maintaining a productivity level within 20% of the FTE monthly average for that modality, which is publicly posted.
  • Deliver excellent customer service, resulting in positive and improving patient satisfaction scores for the department and Medical Center.
  • Observe all prescribed safety and infection control procedures with a minimum of 99% compliance.
  • Maintain records of radio-isotopes utilization as required by government regulatory agencies with 100% accuracy.
  • Schedule and coordinate patient examinations with special isotope orders to ensure maximum utilization of hospital expenditures.
  • Communicate and cooperate effectively with patients, fellow workers, and all hospital personnel, as evidenced by the accuracy of statements and information exchanged and the assistance provided.
  • Transport patients to and from patient floor or other designated areas on an as needed basis.
  • Responsible for proper coding and charging of examinations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Possess the credential of Registered Technologist in Nuclear Medicine, ARRT(N), awarded by the American Registry for Radiologic Technology OR Possess the credential of Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist, CNMT, awarded by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).

Minimum (5) five years experience as a nuclear medicine technologist required.
