Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Ambulatory Surgical Team Coordinator to join our team at Palisades Medical Center. The successful candidate will provide administrative support to our surgical team, ensuring seamless coordination of patient care and efficient operation of our surgical schedules.
Key Responsibilities
As an Ambulatory Surgical Team Coordinator, you will be responsible for:
• Scheduling patients for endoscopy, infusions, blood transfusions, injections, and OR cases, ensuring accurate and timely entry into our scheduling system.
• Maintaining organized systems for scheduling patients, ensuring all scheduled cases have a confirmation number entered on the booking sheet and communicated to physicians' offices.
• Assembling patient charts correctly, ensuring accurate and complete documentation, including H&P, orders, and lab work.
• Entering patient information into our computer system with attention to detail and accuracy, ensuring account numbers match patient labels and computer records.
• Adhering to HIPAA regulations, safeguarding medical information and maintaining patient and employee confidentiality.
• Coordinating with the Charge Nurse to facilitate OR, ENDO, and infusion schedules, maintaining an understanding of the current schedule and communicating effectively with team members.
• Calling patients into the unit from the waiting room, providing clear instructions, and ensuring proper identification with name and medical record number.
• Discharging patients from the computer system in a timely fashion, disassembling charts, and placing them in designated areas.
• Calling cancelled infusion patients to schedule another appointment and performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
• A high school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of 2 years of clerical experience in a hospital setting.
• Proficiency in computer applications, including Word, Excel, Sorian, and ORSOS.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with CPT codes, ICD-9, and ICD-10CM, as well as medical terminology.
Benefits and Compensation
Hackensack Meridian Health offers a competitive salary range of $50,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
