Job Summary

Berkshire Farm Center & Services for Youth is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Educational Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our educational support staff, you will play a vital role in helping youth regain their ability to succeed in the classroom setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Classroom Preparation: Assist teachers in preparing the classroom for classes, including cleaning desks, distributing materials, and setting up necessary equipment.
  • Individualized Support: Work with individual students or smaller groups to review material, provide remedial teaching, and reinforce learning concepts.
  • Classroom Safety and Organization: Ensure classrooms are safe and tidy before classes start and help maintain a clean and organized environment at the end of the day.
  • Assisting Teachers: Support teachers with various tasks, including making copies, grading assignments, cleaning out binders, and setting up new materials.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree preferred, Associate's degree required.
  • Experience: Minimum 1-2 years of experience working with youth.
  • Driver's License: Must have a current, valid driver's license per Agency guidelines.
  • Certifications: Candidates must clear the New York State Child Abuse Registry and pass a physical exam.
  • Cultural Competence: Ability to work with an economically and culturally diverse population.
Work Environment

This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
