The Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Albany is dedicated to providing essential services to children and adolescents facing mental health and behavioral challenges. Our Residential program operates continuously, ensuring a supportive environment for youth aged birth to 21. We have openings for Youth Specialists, available in both part-time and full-time capacities across various shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate the execution of daily programs and activities tailored for youth.
- Offer advocacy and support to clients, ensuring their needs are met.
- Engage clients through a variety of indoor and outdoor activities to promote social interaction.
- Administer medications to clients as prescribed.
- Transport clients to appointments, educational institutions, and recreational activities using agency vehicles.
- Prepare meals for clients and assist them in developing culinary skills.
- Assist with household tasks, including cleaning and maintaining a sanitary environment.
- Participate in training sessions outside of regular shifts to enhance client safety and well-being.
- Work collaboratively as part of a Therapeutic Team, demonstrating flexibility and a nurturing demeanor.
- Prior experience in a Residential setting with youth is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) and Behavior Management Techniques is beneficial, though training will be provided for qualified candidates.
- Availability to work weekends and holidays is required, with additional compensation for holiday shifts.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- A valid driver's license is necessary.
- Physical capability to lift up to 40 lbs, navigate stairs, and maintain mobility for extended periods.
- All candidates must successfully complete pre-employment screenings, including background checks.
