We are seeking two (2) Part-Time Overnight Youth Specialists to contribute to our Heery Center for Young Families, a vital residential program within Community Maternity Services (CMS).
Position Summary:
- Engage with pregnant and parenting adolescents along with their infants/children, including those facing mental health or behavioral challenges, as well as youth dealing with homelessness.
- Provide care in a residential environment that operates 24/7.
- Collaborate as a member of a Therapeutic Team.
- Advocate for youth across various settings and systems.
- Assist with client transportation and perform household tasks such as laundry, cleaning, and meal preparation.
Compensation:
Minimum Salary: $17.00/hour
Maximum Salary: $19.00/hour
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Possession of a valid NYS driver's license.
- Completion of TCI training and ability to implement all aspects of TCI, including physical interventions.
- Willingness to attend mandatory trainings, in-services, staff meetings, and weekly supervisions, which may occur outside of scheduled shifts.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience working with children and adolescents in a residential context.
- Understanding of trauma's impact on youth and ability to respond effectively as part of the Therapeutic Team.
- Advocacy skills for youth in diverse environments.
- Physical capability to lift up to 40 lbs., demonstrate full range of motion, and endure extended periods of sitting or standing, as well as navigate stairs as needed.
