About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Project Engineer to join our team in Burlington, WA. As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for simple to complex utility engineering within our distribution and transmission engineering teams.

This role involves utilizing various drafting and design programs, such as PLSCAD and AutoCAD, to create work products that meet client standards and specifications. You will be responsible for multiple project designs from client notification and award through project completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provides electric utility engineering for operation and maintenance projects, including interpretation and development of distribution designs congruent with utility standards.
  • Performs field work in accordance with utility requirements specific to each customer and different work type.
  • Reads and understands utility notifications and project scopes of work.
  • Interprets utility standards manuals (engineering/construction) to field verify and design utility systems in accordance with utility standards.
  • Utilizes AutoCAD to modify and create designs given a specific scope of work for each independent project.
  • Collaborates in a team environment to complete projects.
  • Provides assistance to the utility engineering team by performing field visits to gather information, as required.
  • Active learning and understanding of the work process from inception of job to construction release.
  • Performs and completes other duties as assigned or requested.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science Degree (BS) in Engineering or three to four years related experience and/or training in lieu of education or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience utilizing AutoCAD or other 3D modeling programs.
  • Ability to be flexible and highly organized with a strong orientation to detail/quality work.
  • Candidate must have working knowledge of the project process from inception to construction completion.
  • Candidate must be able to fully utilize customer systems such as SAP to track and monitor work flow from customer to Potelco.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals and information, journals, technical procedures, and data.
  • Ability to write business correspondence and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from other managers, clients, customers, and local permitting agencies.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts, such as those commonly found in business transactions.
  • Ability to create and explain financial models and forecasts.
  • Ability to apply basic algebra, geometry, and engineering principles.
  • Ability to solve complex problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $32.00/Hr. - USD $46.00/Hr. depending on experience and qualifications.
