Position: Engineer III - Civil/Structural/Architectural

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the development of project scopes and budgets, overseeing design, construction, and project management of capital initiatives within the Prepared Foods manufacturing sector, with a primary focus on CSA (Civil/Structural/Architectural) functions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the engineering subject matter expert for CSA.
  • Ensure that projects and processes align with established organizational policies and objectives while adhering to all relevant codes and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain CSA specifications, standards, and technical documentation in collaboration with other corporate departments.
  • Oversee the daily operational aspects of multiple equipment and process-focused projects.
  • Track, report, and communicate project metrics to cross-functional teams regarding the status and progress of ongoing initiatives.
  • Conduct project cost estimation.
  • Evaluate project metrics for accuracy, enhance project control through process improvements and user training.
  • Guide Operations and Engineering teams to comply with Tyson Enterprise Engineering design specifications and standards.
  • Prepare ad-hoc reports, analyses, and presentations as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant engineering experience, with at least 2 years in the food industry preferred.
  • Proficient in using computer software, including spreadsheets and databases.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with various internal department leaders and plant management.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in the analysis, design, and detailing of structural components and buildings using various materials such as concrete, masonry, wood, and steel; expertise in designing complex steel structures in seismic areas; familiarity with foundation systems; understanding of building codes, occupancy classifications, ADA requirements, and fire suppression systems; technical knowledge of architectural and engineering components of buildings; experience with low-temperature food processing and industrial building design.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, along with strong organizational and time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is preferred.
  • Experience with CAD, Revit, Risa, or other design software.
Travel Requirements:
  • Willingness to travel up to 25-30%, including multi-day stays; ability to navigate uneven surfaces in construction and plant environments safely.
