Position Overview:

As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design, management, and execution of capital projects across our Prepared Foods manufacturing network.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the engineering subject matter expert for civil, structural, and architectural (CSA) functions.
  • Ensure all projects align with organizational policies and comply with relevant codes and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain CSA specifications and standards in collaboration with various corporate departments.
  • Oversee the daily operations of multiple projects, ensuring timely and effective execution.
  • Track and report on project metrics, providing updates to cross-functional teams.
  • Conduct project estimating and enhance project control through process improvements.
  • Support Operations and Engineering teams in adhering to established design specifications and standards.
  • Prepare ad-hoc reports and presentations as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant engineering experience, with at least 2 years in the food industry preferred.
  • Proficient in using computer programs, including spreadsheets and databases.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively engage with internal leaders and plant management.

Technical Skills:
  • Expertise in analyzing, designing, and detailing structural components using various materials.
  • Experience with complex steel structures and foundation systems.
  • Knowledge of building codes, occupancy classifications, and safety requirements.
  • Familiarity with low-temperature food processing and industrial building design.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
  • Experience with CAD, Revit, Risa, or similar design software.

Travel Requirements:
Willingness to travel up to 25-30%, including multi-day stays, and ability to navigate construction and plant environments safely.
