ROLE OVERVIEW:
The Healthcare Customer Service Associate will be tasked with ensuring precise and timely patient check-in and check-out processes. A solid understanding of patient registration, insurance verification, demographic data collection, and appointment scheduling is essential.

This position is vital to the healthcare team, upholding patient confidentiality and adhering to organizational policies and procedures. Regular communication with the Patient Services Supervisor for clinic assignments is anticipated.

SUPERVISION:
Reports to Patient Services Supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS:
+ High School diploma or equivalent required
+ Minimum age of 18
+ Preferably with experience in a medical or dental office
+ Strong background in customer service
+ Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse healthcare team and the public
+ Basic computer proficiency required
+ Excellent phone communication skills
+ Capability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage patient check-in/out, collect co-pays, and oversee account balances
- Input sliding fee information as needed
- Schedule, reschedule, or cancel patient appointments
- Professionally answer calls and direct them as necessary
- Maintain provider schedules and coordinate appointments accordingly
- Engage in staff training sessions
- Safeguard patient confidentiality in accordance with clinic policies
- Assist departmental staff with clinic procedures
- Keep the workspace organized and maintain a professional demeanor
- Uphold the mission of the organization and community health values
- Address patient concerns effectively
- Complete departmental reports in a timely manner
- Perform additional assigned tasks
