Position OverviewPosition Summary

Work Arrangement - This role is designated as hybrid, requiring the selected individual to be present at the designated technical center a minimum of three times weekly.

Key Responsibilities - The individual in this role will oversee the acquisition of electronic components while also managing potential crises and supply chain challenges. This is a non-supervisory role focused on minimizing supply risks and addressing barriers within the supply chain that could hinder the company's manufacturing capabilities.

This position provides the opportunity to collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including command centers, manufacturing plants, suppliers, tactical operations, procurement, and logistics. In addition to core procurement duties, such as formulating and aligning supplier strategies with commodity technologies, negotiation, and contract execution, the candidate may also engage in crisis management tasks.

Core Responsibilities Include:
  • Formulating and implementing procurement strategies informed by business, market, and technological trends while establishing a robust and competitive supplier base.
  • Managing the procurement of all or specific categories of productive and non-productive materials, supplies, machinery, tooling, and services, while actively participating in the development of commodity strategies, sourcing, negotiations, and budget management.
  • Assisting the team in resolving operational challenges that require global leadership involvement.
  • Leading and contributing to cross-functional team alignment.
  • Enhancing supply performance through analysis and application of relevant tools, including benchmarking, cost analysis, and supply chain evaluation.
  • Collaborating with internal and external partners to balance priorities and identify innovative solutions, particularly during request for quotation (RFQ) management, procurement processes, order fulfillment, customer satisfaction, and supplier relationship management.
  • Aiming for successful outcomes that align with the organization's mission.
  • Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships.
  • Creating supply protection and contingency plans.
  • Acting as a team leader across functions, managing critical supply issues that arise.
  • Summarizing critical issues with proposed solutions and communicating them to leadership.
  • Developing and overseeing complex flow plans for tracking supplier performance and allocating critical components to manufacturing plants.
  • Completing ad-hoc projects as necessary to ensure a proactive approach to crisis and supply management.
  • Effectively managing complex and high-pressure supply issues to resolution, with the goal of minimizing disruptions to manufacturing operations.
Qualifications and Skills (Required)
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in procurement or a related field.
  • Strong ability to work independently.
  • Proficiency in software applications and management of complex contracts.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects within tight deadlines.
  • Capability to interpret contracts effectively.
  • Willingness to travel at least 10% of the time, including international travel.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • High level of analytical ability to address unusual and complex problems.
  • Interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with others across functions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a technologically advanced industry (e.g., Semiconductors, Electrical).
  • Background in cost analysis or manufacturing.
  • Experience in the automotive sector.
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering.
