You will engage with interdisciplinary teams to source innovative technologies and critical components for battery systems utilized in vehicles, residential energy solutions, and advanced non-automotive utilities, thereby enhancing customer interaction with our offerings.
This pivotal role involves actively contributing to the formulation of commodity strategies, procurement processes, negotiations, and the execution of global and regional material budgets, while maintaining communication with premier suppliers and partners. The successful candidate will cultivate an understanding of the various factors—political, economic, social, technological, legal, and environmental—that influence our battery component procurement.
Responsibilities Include:
- Managing the sourcing pipeline, benchmarking data, strategy presentations, and ensuring timely execution of global budgets
- Complying with corporate purchasing and accounting standards
o Development of sourcing event strategies and management
o Analysis of bids
o Coordination of RFQ package elements, including Terms & Conditions, SOR, and technical documentation
o Leadership in sourcing recommendations and alignment
- Overseeing sourcing documentation in compliance with audit requirements
- Collaborating with legal teams to negotiate specific contract terms
- Engaging with suppliers on all commercial matters
- Assisting in budget management activities
- Supporting logistics supplier management initiatives, including strategic supplier engagement
- Fostering relationships with key suppliers to resolve commercial issues
- Conducting rate management activities, including spot purchases and supplier inquiries
- Participating in supplier performance reviews
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Finance, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field, excluding internships and co-op experiences
- Ability to work autonomously
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical skills for addressing complex problems
- Interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across teams
- Negotiation proficiency
- Capability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
- Ability to interpret contracts
