Substitute Educator for Boone County Schools

- QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must possess a valid Kentucky Teaching Certificate; or
- Hold a Bachelor's degree or higher (GPA is not a factor); or
- Have completed a minimum of 64 semester hours with a 2.5 GPA or a 3.0 GPA on the last 60 hours of credit, including undergraduate and/or graduate coursework.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with students and staff.
- REPORTS TO: Principal
- JOB OBJECTIVE: To facilitate each student's educational experience as seamlessly as possible in the absence of their regular instructor.
- PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Check in with the principal or school secretary upon arrival at the school.
- Review all plans and schedules to be adhered to during the teaching day.
- Maintain established routines and protocols of the school and classroom.
- Follow the lesson outlined in the lesson plan or plan book.
- Take responsibility for supervising student behavior.
- Provide a report of the day's activities at the end of each teaching day.
- Adhere to all policies, rules, and procedures applicable to teachers.
- Operate and maintain equipment utilized in the classroom.
- Assist in supervising students during emergency drills, assemblies, and recreational periods.
- Record and monitor student attendance.
- Notify the regular teacher of any issues or important information regarding a student.
- Uphold a high standard of ethical behavior and confidentiality concerning student information.
- Monitor and report on school safety conditions to the building principal.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- As needed.
- Daily assignments are coordinated through the secretary, teacher, Aesop, or principal.
- Approved by the Board.
