Job Summary

Cleveland Clinic is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to join our research team. The successful candidate will have a PhD or MD/PhD in a relevant area and will be appointed through the Lerner Research Institute. This training position will provide practical training and experience in a research setting, with a focus on stem cell differentiation, innate immunity, and infectious diseases.

Responsibilities
  • Design and execute independent research projects with the goal of data generation, analysis, interpretation, and manuscript preparation.
  • Conduct in vitro stem cell differentiation, CRISPR-Cas9 mediated genetic editing, 2D and 3D cell cultures, and bioinformatic analysis (bulk and single cells RNA-Seq, ATAC-Seq).
  • Collaborate with the research team to achieve project goals and contribute to the development of new research ideas.
Requirements
  • PhD or MD/PhD required.
  • Previous experience in a research or academic setting, with graduate student experience meeting this requirement.
  • Scientific writing experience and strong communication and analytical abilities.
Preferred Qualities
  • Recent PhD or equivalent degree in molecular biology.
  • Experience with mammalian cell culture.
  • First-author publications in peer-reviewed journals.
Work Environment

The successful candidate will be able to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods and will be required to operate a computer and other office equipment. The ability to communicate and exchange accurate information is essential, as is the ability to distinguish color and manual dexterity to handle specimens and repair equipment. The position may involve exposure to hazardous chemicals, bio-hazards, radioactive materials, etc.

Pay Range

The pay range for this position is $0.01 - $333,340.26 per hour, with the actual compensation determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set, and education.
