Postdoctoral Fellow
Job Summary:We are seeking a highly motivated and independent scientist to join our team as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Ophthalmic Research at the Cleveland Clinic Cole Eye Institute. The successful candidate will have a strong background in cellular and molecular biology, with a focus on astrocyte-immune-neuronal interactions and reactive astrocytes.
Responsibilities:- Design and execute independent research projects to study the cellular and molecular mechanisms of reactive astrocytes in the eye and optic nerve.
- Utilize high-throughput genomic and proteomic techniques to identify critical genes and pathways involved in reactive astrocyte functions.
- Employ rodent ocular disease models, imaging, and behavioral assays to study the molecular, transcriptional, and functional consequences of cyclic-nucleotide signaling in reactive retinal and optic nerve astrocytes.
- Collaborate with team members to interpret data, generate hypotheses, and design follow-up experiments.
- PhD or MD/PhD in a relevant area, such as cellular and molecular biology, neuroscience, or ophthalmology.
- Strong background in astrocyte-immune-neuronal interactions and reactive astrocytes.
- Experience with high-throughput genomic and proteomic techniques, rodent ocular disease models, and behavioral assays.
