POSITION SUMMARY:

The Facilities Coordinator is responsible for overseeing maintenance and operational functions within the organization. This role includes supervising assigned staff, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and maintaining a safe and efficient environment for residents.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise and guide porters and trainees in their daily tasks.
  • Conduct maintenance and cleaning operations within the housing program and tenant units.
  • Document findings and provide recommendations for improvements.
  • Ensure adherence to city, state, and federal environmental standards.
  • Oversee the routine maintenance of safety equipment, including smoke detectors and fire extinguishers.
  • Coordinate extermination services to maintain a pest-free environment.
  • Perform and supervise various repair tasks, including painting, light plumbing, and electrical work.
  • Manage external contractors as necessary.
  • Maintain regular communication with building managers and superintendents.
  • Oversee inventory management, procurement, and distribution of maintenance supplies.
  • Coordinate the logistics of purchase deliveries.
  • Maintain the program vehicle and be available for emergency situations.
  • Document all follow-up actions related to apartment repairs.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

WORK SCHEDULE:

This is a full-time position, requiring 37.5 hours per week, with a schedule from Tuesday to Saturday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Experience in maintenance work, preferably two years.
  • A valid driver's license and willingness to operate the agency vehicle.
  • Basic computer skills and documentation abilities are essential.
  • Strong organizational skills are necessary.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is preferred.
