Job Summary

Central Louisiana Surgical Hospital seeks a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Office Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our business office, you will be responsible for coordinating the registration and insurance verification of all patients scheduled at our facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contact patients to verify demographics and enter corrections into our software system.
  • Determine primary and secondary insurance carriers, verify benefit coverage, and ensure accurate data entry.
  • Calculate patient liability amounts due on the date of service.
  • Inform patients of disclosures concerning out-of-network providers and insurances.
  • Ensure all patient interactions are recorded in our software system.
  • Adhere to HIPAA guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Comply with all financial policies and procedures of the department and facility.
  • Participate in cross-training activities and complete required education assignments.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Two years of experience in a medical office preferred.
  • Computer experience required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Work Environment

The work environment is a Category III Office Environment.
