Overview:

The Computed Tomography (CT) Imaging Specialist is responsible for executing a diverse range of standard and advanced imaging tasks. This role requires collaboration with fellow imaging professionals to ensure high-quality patient care. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential to align with the core values and mission of CHRISTUS Health.

Key Responsibilities:

• Uphold the standards of the OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.

• Conduct various diagnostic imaging procedures, including complex tasks, using cutting-edge computerized imaging technology.

• Exhibit proficiency in initiating and maintaining intravenous (IV) access, as well as operating high-speed, pressurized injection devices.

• Assess patients for clinical contrast history and identify any potential contraindications.

• Follow established protocols, quality assurance guidelines, and regulatory standards.

• Engage effectively with patients and healthcare providers, prioritizing procedures to ensure optimal patient care and continuity.

• Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to rotate among departments and clinics for adequate coverage.

• Assist Radiologists during invasive and biopsy procedures utilizing CT technology to accurately locate anatomical sites.

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms, ensuring they are well-stocked prior to procedures and comply with Infection Control standards.

• Accurately code and enter all charges associated with procedures.

• Adapt patient assessment and care methods to meet the unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and developmental needs of each individual served.

• Perform all duties while safeguarding patient confidentiality and only disclosing information when necessary for job functions.

• Adhere to the core values of CHRISTUS Health in all actions.

• Execute additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

A. Education/Skills
  • Graduate from an accredited Radiology Technology program or an equivalent recognized institution required.
B. Experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of CT experience in a hospital or clinical environment required.
  • Preferred: 3 years of CT experience in a clinical imaging setting.
C. Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
  • Must be registered with the (ARRT) American Registry of Radiologic Technology.
  • ARRT registration in CT is required.
  • Current state licensure is mandatory.
  • Current BLS certification (American Heart Association) is required.
