Position Overview

The Haskell Company is seeking a dedicated professional to advance sustainability initiatives across various projects. This role is pivotal in integrating sustainable practices into the design and construction processes, fostering collaboration among architects, engineers, contractors, and clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee sustainability initiatives on assigned projects.
  • Facilitate Integrated Design charrettes with clients, stakeholders, and project teams.
  • Work closely with clients and project teams to embed sustainable design principles and decarbonization strategies into project frameworks.
  • Analyze project designs to enhance energy efficiency, water conservation, and indoor air quality while minimizing carbon emissions.
  • Modify specifications to incorporate sustainability criteria.
  • Assess sustainability and decarbonization approaches for existing facilities.
  • Evaluate life-cycle costs associated with renewable energy systems and energy-efficient technologies.
  • Manage third-party certifications for multiple sustainable projects.
  • Stay updated on local, state, and national building codes and sustainability standards.
  • May participate as a member or co-leader of the Sustainability Council.
  • Promote a unified sustainability language throughout the organization.
  • Assist in managing sustainability documentation and tools on the company intranet.
  • Encourage sustainable operations and outreach initiatives.
  • Support marketing efforts related to sustainability and help develop standard proposal language.
  • Facilitate the sharing of best practices across the organization.
  • Assist in reporting sustainability metrics, including greenhouse gas reductions, water conservation, and recycling efforts.
  • Travel as necessary.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in architecture, engineering, construction, sustainable design, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of ten years of experience in the industry, with a focus on sustainably designed projects.
Required Skills and Certifications
  • Accredited Sustainability Professional (LEED AP with Specialty, GGP, GPCP, or equivalent).
Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to perform ordinary ambulatory skills, including visiting various locations, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, and lifting light to medium weights (10-50 pounds). Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity are essential, along with the ability to operate equipment and read application information.
