Youth Program Engagement Coordinator

The Youth Program Engagement Coordinator plays a vital role in providing peer support through individualized and group initiatives, championing the rights and empowerment of young individuals within mental health and associated systems. This position involves advocacy, resource connection for participants, and collaboration with ODMHSAS stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the local implementation team
  • Assist in the development of strategic plans
  • Provide leadership within the community
  • Deliver advocacy training to young individuals
  • Support the creation of activities that promote youth involvement
  • Enhance and expand the youth support network
  • Facilitate the growth of Youth MOVE chapters
  • Empower participants towards independence and self-advocacy
  • Stay informed on trends in behavioral health through ongoing training
  • Fulfill weekly direct service contact obligations
  • Perform additional duties as required

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least one year of experience in recovery stabilization
  • Genuine interest in working with transitional-age youth
  • Experience in advocacy or personal mental health background
  • Availability for a flexible schedule
  • Basic proficiency in computer skills
  • Willingness to share personal experiences for the benefit of others
  • Understanding of Systems of Care philosophy and related principles
  • Commitment to attending mandatory training sessions

  • Flexible work schedule with local and occasional state travel
