Job Summary:

As a Production Manager at Rex Moore, you will be responsible for overseeing the completion of production orders to meet demand requirements on time and on budget. You will manage day-to-day activities to ensure safe and efficient production of quality products. This role operates out of the manufacturing facility and requires strong leadership and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct production supervisors to ensure completion of manufacturing activities as scheduled and within budget.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to improve manufacturing processes and methods for cost reduction, quality improvement, and increased efficiency.
  • Manage manufacturing work instructions and SOPs to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Manage workforce and advise on resource needs for all work cells and collaborate with supervisors to forecast labor needs.
  • Ensure in-process quality standards are met, and conduct random daily inspections of workmanship, providing coaching and training as needed.
  • Monitor accuracy of time reporting and correct as needed.
  • Ensure and manage all production order documents are accurate and complete.
  • Collaborate with supervisors to set daily output standards in accordance with determined labor routes and measure achievements.
  • Manage production supervisors and oversee floor team members by providing guidance, training, and corrective action as necessary.
  • Ensure documented training is completed as required and is up to date.
  • Seek to improve existing standards and procedures to support continuous improvement within the department.
  • Collaborate with facilities and maintenance manager to ensure equipment and tools are in safe and operating status and issues are addressed and corrected in a timely manner.
  • Review production schedule and ensure level loading is appropriate, engaging with production planning on rescheduling as needed.
  • Collaborate with SCM and production team members on material needs, validating requests, and engaging SCM when opportunities for improvement arise.
  • Support and maintain a culture of safety by leading safety initiatives in conjunction with the Environmental Health and Safety Team.
  • Manage WIP inventory locations, accuracy, and accounting.
  • Maintain a culture of safety and 7S Workplace organization compliance.
Work Environment:
This position will be working primarily in Manufacturing. The workstation may be located on the production floor with a significant amount of time walking the internal building and external grounds. The environment is fast-paced with ever-changing priorities. The environment is one of innovation and continuous improvement.
