Job Summary

As a Production Supervisor at F&S Produce, you will be responsible for overseeing the production process in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. Your primary goal will be to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance with company specifications.

You will provide direction, training, and motivation to team members, using recognition, constructive feedback, and other rewards to drive continuous improvement. Additionally, you will follow all health and safety standards and enforce the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule, staff, plan, organize, and direct production activities for one or more departments or work areas, ensuring that production goals are met.
  • Exercise process controls, consistently completing start-up and process control reports, and actively training, coaching, and developing team production expectations, quality specifications, line balancing, waste, changeovers, and start-up processes and reporting.
  • Deliver daily huddles to review what worked well, safety, process control measures, events, and activities to set employee expectations, ensuring related paperwork is completed in a timely manner.
  • Ensure daily start-up, daily process, and reviews daily results to identify improvement opportunities, ensuring the team works within all process control guidelines.
  • Support scheduled trials and verify that product and packaging meet production needs, rotating stock as required.
  • Address issues, prepare work orders, and ensure that work is complete and corrected in a timely manner.
  • Understand daily production goals, targets, and KPIs and analyze data to implement corrective actions quickly to drive results, ensuring the team consistently meets targets.
  • Coach, train, and develop team members to understand the root cause of poor performance, employee, and team performance, and the implementation of process control.
  • Eliminate daily barriers and monitor KPIs throughout the shift, providing regular updates on progress and issues to the Production and Operations Manager.
  • Demonstrate good leadership practices, coach employees for improvements, evaluate performance, skills, and knowledge, schedule employee training, prepare and deliver disciplinary action, and recommend discharge actions as needed.
  • Promote and support a Safety Culture, advocating for team members to work in a safe manner, and ensure timely reporting of injuries or near-miss accidents.
Requirements
  • Advanced education in Food Safety or Culinary Arts is helpful, with a degree or certificates in HACCP, Food Handling, Culinary Arts, or other related training or education preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a production supervisor or management role, preferably in a chilled food manufacturing environment within a fast-paced business.
  • Experience working in a food manufacturing environment applying common processes, procedures, and equipment, with 1 year or more experience applying HACCP and enforcing routine Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and in a food environment essential.
  • Experience working in a continuous improvement environment and demonstrated delivery through change, with the ability to apply common math formulas in all units of measure for reporting.
  • Proficient computer skills and experience using Microsoft Suite applications, including Excel, with excellent analytical skills.
