Role Summary:
The Clinical Laboratory at UNC Health is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to contribute to our mission. In this capacity, you will perform essential patient testing and provide crucial administrative assistance within the UNC Healthcare System.
Primary Duties:
- Guiding patients on necessary fasting protocols prior to testing and responding to their questions.
- Ensuring the upkeep and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment.
- Aiding in the orientation and training of new personnel and students.
- Overseeing daily laboratory activities.
- Conducting a range of standardized tests following established protocols and utilizing standard equipment.
- Preparing specimens, executing analytical assessments, and maintaining precise documentation.
- Managing reagents, preparing necessary materials, and overseeing inventory supplies.
Additional Details:
Educational Qualifications:
● Associate's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Technology, Chemical Science, or Biological Science.
Licensure/Certification Qualifications:
● Eligibility for certification based on the degree obtained.
Experience Requirements:
● No previous experience required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Requirements:
Competence in standard laboratory practices.
