Job Summary:

The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for overseeing the efficient operations of the Housekeeping Department at the Hampton Inn Rockford. This includes supervising the entire Housekeeping Department, including rooms, front and back of house, public areas, and laundry. The successful candidate will be expected to work closely with the General Manager and other departments to ensure seamless hotel operations.

Responsibilities:
  • Leadership and Supervision: Supervise and lead a team of Housekeeping staff to ensure excellent service delivery and high standards of cleanliness.
  • Department Management: Manage the day-to-day operations of the Housekeeping Department, including room assignments, linen management, and equipment maintenance.
  • Guest Services: Ensure that all guest rooms and public areas are clean and well-maintained, and that guest requests are handled promptly and efficiently.
  • Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections to ensure that high standards of cleanliness and quality are maintained.
  • Training and Development: Provide training and coaching to Housekeeping staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their duties effectively.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with other departments, including Front Desk, Engineering, and Maintenance, to ensure seamless hotel operations.
  • Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve any issues or problems that may arise in the Housekeeping Department, including guest complaints and equipment malfunctions.
  • Reporting and Administration: Prepare and submit reports on Housekeeping operations, including room status, linen usage, and equipment maintenance.
Requirements:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in Hospitality or related field preferred.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of progressive experience in a hotel or hospitality environment, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Skills: Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and train staff. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Certifications: Food Handlers, Alcohol Awareness, CPR, and First Aid certifications required.
