Key Responsibilities:
Support for New Product Development:
- Engage with design engineering teams to confirm the manufacturability of new product concepts.
- Perform Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) evaluations to enhance manufacturing workflows.
- Create manufacturing strategies, including process flow diagrams, assembly guidelines, and production timelines for new offerings.
- Advise on material choices, tooling needs, and production machinery for new product categories.
- Assess current manufacturing methods and pinpoint areas for automation to elevate efficiency and quality.
- Design and deploy automated solutions, such as robotics, conveyor systems, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs), to optimize production workflows.
- Collaborate with automation suppliers to select suitable equipment and supervise installation and commissioning processes.
- Establish and uphold automation standards and best practices across manufacturing sites.
- Conduct time and motion analyses to uncover bottlenecks and inefficiencies in manufacturing operations.
- Implement continuous improvement strategies to boost productivity, shorten cycle times, and reduce waste.
- Lead root cause investigations and corrective action plans to resolve manufacturing challenges and non-conformities.
- Utilize statistical process control (SPC) methodologies to track process performance and ensure product integrity.
- Work in close partnership with cross-functional teams, including design engineering, supply chain, and quality assurance, to ensure alignment on manufacturing goals and specifications.
- Participate in design evaluations, risk assessments, and validation processes to facilitate successful product launches.
- Provide technical support and mentorship to junior engineers and production personnel.
- Assist with audits and inspections conducted by regulatory bodies or external reviewers as required.
- Lead the planning and execution of capital projects from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and priorities.
- Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables, including cost estimates, timelines, and resource allocations.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, monitor progress, and address risks to ensure timely and budget-compliant project delivery.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, external suppliers, and contractors to ensure effective project execution.
- Utilize data-driven methodologies (such as Six Sigma) and LEAN principles to enhance production processes.
- Promote and support LEAN Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives within the manufacturing environment.
- Contribute to the Quality Policy and corporate quality objectives by identifying and resolving issues that hinder goal achievement.
- Strive to prevent quality defects by understanding the criteria and severity of those defects through established grading systems.
- Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering or related engineering disciplines (e.g., Mechanical Engineering).
- A minimum of five years of relevant experience, with familiarity in machinery and production equipment.
- Exceptional leadership and communication abilities, with demonstrated skills in team/project leadership, effective communication, and analytical problem-solving. A strong technical background with hands-on experience is essential.
