Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at Sintavia, LLC. As a key member of our Additive Manufacturing department, you will be responsible for developing end-to-end production plans to support product development and production projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing post-processing documentation, including manufacturing routers, work instructions, machining plans, and manufacturing process workflows.
  • Coordinate with project engineering and additive engineering teams to ensure successful contract reviews.
  • Evaluate customer models, drawings, and statements of work to assess part manufacturability.
  • Design tools and fixtures for machining, heat treating, and other post-processing requirements.
  • Work with quality and engineering stakeholders to create inspection plans.
  • Identify outside service providers for post-processing requirements outside of Sintavia's expertise.
  • Manipulate and modify additive design files in Siemens NX as required for adequate post-processing.
  • Collaborate with machine operators, design engineers, and quality teams to identify and implement process improvements in the manufacturing process.
  • Promptly respond to technical issues arising on the production floor.
  • Support the installation of new post-processing machines as required.
  • Interpret mechanical and metallurgical test results related to customer requirements.
  • Perform thermal heat treatments and hot isostatic press processing of AM parts to refine and improve performance of critical components used in aerospace and defense.
  • Provide technical support in transitioning AM components into production, including process flow, process maps, dimensional variation, process capability, post-processing operations, and operations sheets.
  • Acquire 3D data using modern and traditional tools, such as white and blue light scanning.
  • Interpret part inspection reports, including CT scans, X-ray, blue light scans, and coordinate measuring machine data, to determine part conformance and necessary adjustments.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in a technical or related field.
  • At least 7 years of experience in the manufacturing field.
  • Prior experience with CAD design software.
  • Easily adaptable to new organizations and technical environments.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external project stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of post-processing machinery.
  • Advanced GD&T knowledge.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Aerospace experience.
  • Previous Additive Manufacturing experience.
  • Experience using Siemens NX, Team Center, and Op Center.
  • Previous experience working with CNC operations, programming, and machining of Additive manufactured components.
  • Prior experience with process capability analysis.
  • Prior experience with post-processing technologies relevant to Additive Manufacturing.
