Key Responsibilities:
As a Junior Structural Engineer, you will be part of a collaborative team responsible for overseeing the inspection and maintenance of state-owned bridges and box culverts. Your duties will include:

  • Conducting hands-on inspections of bridges and reporting on structural data and condition ratings.
  • Identifying repair and maintenance needs for bridges.
  • Assisting in the design work for bridge-related projects.
  • Inspecting newly constructed structures prior to final acceptance.

Work Environment:
The position requires frequent travel throughout the Aberdeen Region, with occasional overnight stays. You will work outdoors in various weather conditions and around highway traffic, often at significant heights.

Physical Requirements:
Candidates must be able to walk, sit, and stand for extended periods, and perform physical tasks such as climbing, balancing, and crawling through tight spaces.

Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and the ability to become a NBI Team Leader. A valid driver's license is required, and willingness to obtain a Class A CDL is preferred.
