Job Summary:

USA Health is seeking a highly skilled Epidemiologist to join our team as a Faculty member. As a key member of our research team, you will design and conduct epidemiological studies to identify and address health problems in lower Alabama.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement epidemiological studies to investigate health problems in lower Alabama
  • Organize and direct a team of staff and students to carry out these studies
  • Compile and analyze results, and prepare reports for health centers, public health authorities, and the general public
  • Participate in the education of medical students and residents
  • Supervise staff members, direct and evaluate their job performances, and provide training and guidance
  • Propose and design research projects in epidemiology using both environmental and community studies
  • Define and identify population groups for study and evaluation of risk from various environmental dangers
  • Analyze results and supervise the preparation of research project reports
  • Write proposals for future research projects and prepare requests for project funding
  • Prepare reports to be presented to other scientific research facilities and to government administrators
  • Give educational talks to community groups
  • Act as a consultant to other scientists in the department and in the larger scientific community
  • Provide educational resources and direct educational contact with pre-medical and medical students

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. degree in epidemiology, public health, medicine, or a related field
  • Knowledge of the design and administration of epidemiological research
  • Analytical, organizational, and leadership skills for staff supervision and direction
  • Excellent verbal and written skills to prepare reports and proposals and present information to outside scientific and community groups
