Epidemiologist - Faculty Position

Job Summary:
USA Health is seeking a highly skilled Epidemiologist to join our team. As a Faculty Epidemiologist, you will design and conduct epidemiological studies to identify and address health problems in lower Alabama. You will lead a team of staff and students in carrying out these studies, compile and analyze results, and prepare reports for health centers, public health authorities, and the general public.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and conduct epidemiological studies to identify and address health problems in lower Alabama.
- Lead a team of staff and students in carrying out these studies.
- Compile and analyze results, and prepare reports for health centers, public health authorities, and the general public.
- Participate in the education of medical students and residents.
- Supervise staff members, direct and evaluate their job performances, and provide training and guidance.
- Propose and design research projects in epidemiology using both environmental and community studies.
- Define and identify population groups for study and evaluation of risk from various environmental dangers.
- Analyze results and supervise the preparation of research project reports.
- Write proposals for future research projects and prepare requests for project funding.
- Prepare reports to be presented to other scientific research facilities and to government administrators.
- Give educational talks to community groups.
- Act as a consultant to other scientists in the department and in the larger scientific community.
- Provide educational resources and direct educational contact with pre-medical and medical students.
Requirements:
- Ph.D. degree in epidemiology, public health, medicine, or a related field.
- Knowledge of the design and administration of epidemiological research.
- Analytical, organizational, and leadership skills for staff supervision and direction.
- Excellent verbal and written skills to prepare reports and proposals and present information to outside scientific and community groups.
