Qualifications: A High School diploma or GED is required. Candidates must be willing to obtain a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential within the first year of employment and meet Head Start Program Performance Standards. The ability to work effectively with individuals with diverse disabilities and maintain confidentiality is essential. A valid driver's license and current vehicle liability insurance are mandatory. Candidates must be at least 21 years old and possess a good driving record.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in achieving IEP/IFSP goals through active participation in daily activities.
- Engage in the developmental screening process for Head Start children.
- Maintain precise records and documentation regarding children's progress.
- Participate in meetings regarding Head Start children as required.
- Support the acquisition of non-federal match funding as necessary.
- Attend all staff meetings and training sessions as directed by the supervisor.
- Provide assistance in Head Start and Early Head Start classrooms when required.
Additional Duties: Carry out childcare responsibilities as needed. Attend IEP/IFSP meetings upon supervisor request. Assist with data entry for program records. Promote and support all YFS programs and services. Undertake additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor. Adhere to the mission, values, and policies of YFS. Serve as a substitute bus driver and teacher assistant when necessary.
Work Environment: Duties will be performed in both a controlled office setting and informal environments with groups of children. Occasional driving may be required. The ability to lift up to 50 lbs is necessary.
