Job Title: Assistant Toddler Teacher

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Assistant Toddler Teacher to join our team at the YMCA of Rapid City. As a key member of our childcare program, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing environment where young learners can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and adhere to YMCA safety procedures, as well as state and local codes, to ensure the safety and security of each child under your care.
  • Engage in purposeful programming designed to meet the developmental needs of each child, working alongside lead teachers to implement age-appropriate curricula that inspire curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with all the children in your care, creating a supportive and inclusive environment that helps children feel valued, respected, and empowered to reach their full potential.
  • Interact with YMCA families on a daily basis, providing ongoing positive dialogue and support to build strong connections between families and our childcare program.
  • Participate in annual training opportunities to stay up-to-date on the latest best practices and educational trends, ensuring you are equipped to support the needs of the children in your care.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment, ensuring our childcare spaces are well-maintained and properly equipped with everything needed for a successful day of learning and exploration.
  • Implement the YMCA Social and Emotional Curriculum, Conscious Discipline, in your daily interactions with children, helping them develop essential life skills such as empathy, self-awareness, and conflict resolution.
